Working from several photographs, students learn to sketch their pet’s poses and moods. Pencil, ink and watercolor are used to produce these light hearted and whimsical drawings. TIP: how to photograph your pet - try shooting your pictures while sitting or lying on the ground at your pet's level.

In this 2 day workshop Seattle artist Jean Bradbury leads artists through the steps to produce unique oil paintings capturing the characteristics of our pets. Participants work from photographs and learn some basic oil painting techniques such as glazing and mixing rich colors.

This 3 hour class will include an instructor demonstration and each participant will be guided to create their own unique and expressive artwork based on the demo painting or a subject of their choice. We will use the shapes of mountains and trees as a place to begin an adventurous exploration of watercolor painting. All levels of experience are welcome!

Learn how to make a Coptic binding, an ancient non-adhesive book that does not require any glue in its construction. It has at least 6 sections sewn onto a front and back cover. The fun part is the book opens 360. Tuition $50 supplies included.
